ASANJA NYASARORI

Asanja Nyasarori is a new Luxury Tented Camp located in the Western corridor of the Serengeti National Park. Asanja Nyasarori has Seven ensuite Individual Luxury huts and One (two-bedroom ensuite) Family hut. All huts are inspired by Maasai huts, which are known as enkaji in Maa language.

The Asanja Nyasarori camp is open all year round as this area has spectacular wildlife all year with so many resident animals around. Asanja has created an intriguing Maasai boma for our guests to experience living in a modern luxurious Maasai boma, consisting of three huts as a single unit room, each hut with its facility, which includes a sitting lounge area, sleeping area, and a bathroom. There are specially designed plunge pools in each of the rooms for you to soak up, unwind, and relax in the bush. Additionally, each unit can have its own dining experience giving you complete privacy.

To add, every year, thousands of Wildebeest take a plunge to cross the glittering waters of the Grumeti River. The River is well known for its population of hippos and the Gigantic Nice Crocodiles. The Lush Riparian forest that shades the river is home to the Rare Colobus Monkeys. Asanja Grumeti is well hidden amongst the open woodlands of the Nyasarori Plains, famous for large herds of elephants and a good concentration of wildlife.

Every month is different…

Nature is full of surprises, this year the rainy season has been longer than usual and that sets the balance for everything else in Tanzania.

But in general, this is how it goes:

December

January

February

The three months of December, January, and February make up the Green Season. Everything grows and flourishes; it’s also called the calving season as all the young are born. A visit during this time holds a high chance of catching a glimpse of a baby giraffe being born, you might see a baby elephant, but you’ve more than a good chance of seeing lion cubs.

This is nature as it was intended, but do keep in mind, the lurking predator belongs here too.

For birdwatchers, this is the ideal time, especially on and around Lake Manyara. It’s hot at this time of the year and the temperature hovers more or less around 30oc.

We’re looking forward to welcoming you into the wilderness of Tanzania

Yes, I am talking about the African red-billed hornbill and Warthogs. Whether you are a fan of birds or an animal lover, Serengeti has got it all! The best way to see them close enough is through a game drive. As much as one would like to cover the park in its entirety, it is not possible due to its massive size. Be sure to book the tour which fits your preferences. It is necessary to choose the correct guide and company. This is because some are better at spotting animals than others. Your tour guide can make or break your Serengeti experience.

Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park

Start the day on a high note by soaring above the plains in a hot-air balloon. As the sun rises, watch the herds of elephants from above and admire the unspoiled landscape. Hot-air balloon rides are at an additional cost and are weather-dependent. The flight length varies between 50 to 90 minutes, depending on the weather conditions. Bush breakfast after landing.

Exploring the Serengeti’s wilderness through game drives or taking to the skies in a hot air balloon is a thrilling way to get up close and personal with the park’s diverse fauna and flora.

Be A Part Of The Serengeti Great Migration

The great migration is considered one of nature’s wondrous spectacles. It is a time when hooved animals such as Wildebeest, Zebras, and Gazelles cross over the Mara River in search of food and greener pastures. Many people flock to the Serengeti to witness this breathtaking scene.

You should know that the Migration is not a one-day event and takes place over a while. Always inform your Safari operator so that they can thoughtfully plan to optimize your chances of seeing the migration. The best feel and viewing of this epic movie is through Aerial view. Hop on to one of the Balloons and watch the migration happen right below you.

If you love camping and backpacking, read along! You can either have a base camp and explore the surroundings around this, have a moving base with a crew to help move and set up, or go on a full-out adventure and carry on with the minimum to survive.
