Tanzania COVID-19 Safari Protocols

How We’re Keeping You Safe at Great Image Expedition

Our protocols developed in line with recommendations from the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, World Tourism Organization, International Air Transport Association, and health professionals with safari expertise.

  • We comply with government-mandated policies in the country.
  • Hand washing may not always be possible on safari. Therefore, alcohol-based hand sanitizer is provided.
  • Bottles of hand sanitizer available in all safari vehicles.
  • We prioritize maintaining high hygiene and safety standards.

Safari Vehicle and Travel Considerations

  • We recommend private safari vehicles for individual groups traveling together.
  • If you experience symptoms of COVID-19, our safari guide will contact our medical support team for a consultation.
  • If a potential COVID-19 infection suspected, we will facilitate necessary testing by health authorities.
  • Positive cases will be managed according to national guidelines by our medical support team and the guest’s home country consulate.

Flexibility and Privacy on Safari

  • A driving safari offers flexibility and privacy for couples, families, or friends.
  • You will have exclusive access to your vehicle, allowing for a private exploration of Tanzania’s wild landscapes.
  • Our road safari vehicles are sanitized and cleaned to meet the highest cleanliness standards.

Guide and Vehicle Safety Measures

  • Guides are tested before your safari and will always wear masks in and out of the vehicle.
  • Our goal is to ensure you have the best safari experience while minimizing pandemic-related worries.

Vehicle Features and Comfort

  • Each closed safari vehicle equipped with large window seats and a pop-up roof for enhanced wildlife viewing.
  • Vehicles include front air conditioning, first aid kits, inverters with charging points, Maasai blankets, bean bags for photography, a fridge or cooler with refreshments, sunshades on the pop-up roof, and catering equipment for picnics.
