Set on top of Umbwe Hill, Bashay Rift Lodge is ideally located in the heart of the fertile Karatu area, only a few kilometres from the Ngorongoro Crater. The lodge offers breathtaking 360° views over the Karatu area, Lake Eyasi and the Rift Valley. All 32 rooms are spread in the vast and lovely garden and are decorated in a warm “Farm in Africa” style.
Leading off the beautiful garden terrace with commanding views over the valley, the main bar and lounge, with its fireplace, is the perfect gathering point for sunsets and after-meals meals.
The elegant main restaurant, with its terrace and pergola close to the pool area, offers traditional Tanzanian and international cuisine.
The guests’ favourite spot after a day of dust and heat in the bush is the modern swimming pool, equipped with an eco-friendly water system. The pool area enjoys the sun for most of the day, and the warmth can be felt long after sunset.
Far from the crowd, along the “Northern Circuit”, yet conveniently close to various activities, including excellent Safaris into Manyara NP, Lake Eyasi and the Ngorongoro Crater.
