Serengeti Kamwene Tented Camp. This is set in a unique, quiet, natural area in Central Serengeti, just 24 km from Seronera Air Strip. It is also just a 15-20-minute drive. Travelling to the Camp is another game drive, as you will meet most species of wild animals on your way. We strive to make our guests feel at home by creating a warm and friendly atmosphere in our Camp.
The Camp relies on Campolar eCampy for power and hot water, and a backup generator keeps the lights on in cloudy weather. There are six tents in total. It is the most luxurious and enjoyable tent in Serengeti National Park.
Whom do we not recommend tented camps for? Tented camps are typically more basic than traditional lodges or even tented lodges, so guests should be prepared for the rustic setting, limited access to electricity, and no internet connectivity. Some tented camps may not be suitable for families with young children or those with mobility issues, as they may require walking over uneven terrain. And if the thought of hearing the sounds of lions/hyenas throughout the night with only a canvas wall to separate you from the wilderness sounds unsettling, you should consider staying at lodges. Tented camps may not be the best option for clients travelling with young children, as children must be supervised to keep safe from the wild.
