After breakfast, depart from Tarangire National Park and head toward the Ngorongoro Crater rim. Upon arrival, you’ll begin your descent into the crater floor (19.2 km in diameter, 610 meters deep, and 304 sq. km), where you’ll embark on a thrilling game drive. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to Africa’s famous “Big Five” – rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo, and elephant. Many other mammals and bird species, such as flamingos on the soda lake, geese, and storks, can also be spotted here. We will break for lunch at the Hippo Pool picnic site before continuing our game viewing and heading to Serengeti.

After breakfast, you’ll embark on a full-day game drive through the breathtaking highland region toward Serengeti National Park. Known for its vast, varied landscapes, Serengeti is home to diverse ecosystems, ranging from grassy plains to dry, marshy woodlands. This iconic park hosts the world’s largest animal migration, where herds of wildebeest and zebra move in sync, following the rains. During the short rainy season (November–December), the herds travel from the northern hills to the southern plains, and in the long rainy season (April–June), they return to the north. Your guide will navigate to the best spots for witnessing this incredible spectacle.
After an early breakfast, you’ll begin your day with a sunrise game drive in Serengeti, where the action unfolds as wildebeest and zebras graze near lions and other big cats like leopards and cheetahs. As you continue, you’ll visit Olduvai Gorge, a site that holds significant archaeological importance. This was where Louis and Mary Leakey uncovered some of the earliest human fossils in the 1960s, and a small museum chronicles their groundbreaking work. Afterward, depart Serengeti and drive back to Arusha or Kilimanjaro. Arrive and either continue your travels or head to Zanzibar for your beach holiday.
