Laba Migration Camp is the most luxurious in the Serengeti. Far from being a temporary camp, it offers exceptional comforts.
You’ll be immersed into the atmosphere of the first, authentic safaris circa the end of the 19th century.
The décor, based on the theme of ‘a cabinet of curiosities’, is dedicated to nature. You’ll be walking in the shoes of both geologist and naturalist collector, exploring new territories to build up a collection of singular and fascinating objects such as rare stones, meteorites and other fossils. LABA Migration Camp is a place of wonders in reflecting the image of its natural surroundings.
Like mobile herds, the LABA Migration Camp is mobile. It accompanies the high points of the Great Migration, three major stages per year, giving you a front-row seat to this incredible spectacle.
These choice locations are enhanced by the very structure of our camp, which is entirely open to nature.
Your safety is ensured at all times by our Massai, for whom this natural environment and wildlife behaviour hold no secrets.
In addition to the wildebeest, which dominate in terms of numbers, the park is also home to the five species that make up the Big Five (the name given to this group of species by African safari hunters in the 20th century): lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros (in small numbers) and African buffalo (Syncerus caffer). The park is also home to hyenas, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, birds of prey and many other species. This profusion of animals has generated a local economy revolving around what is sometimes called ecotourism, and Tanzania is now very careful to exploit this local wealth rationally, both through protection policies and specific taxation of tourist activities.
