Room types of Serengeti Green Camp

Classic Tent Accommodation at Serengeti Green Camp

Serengeti Green Camp offers ten spacious, adventurous mobile tents, each featuring an attached bathroom. The rooms include comfortable, king-sized beds or a twin bed arrangement, with sumptuous, fresh cotton linens and bedside lighting. The ensuite bathrooms are equipped with hot bucket showers, available on request, offering a simple yet authentic safari experience.

Adventure-Focused Safari Experience

Wayo Africa has created one of the best value properties in East Africa, offering an ideal escape from the crowds. The camp focuses on adventure, with a primary emphasis on experiencing the thunderous action of the Great Migration. The camp moves seasonally to track the migration: in the southern plains (Kusini area) during the calving season (Dec–March), and in the north (Kogatende area) during the dry season for the iconic Mara River crossings (June–Nov). The flexibility to set up camps away from busy areas ensures a more intimate and exceptional wildlife experience.

A Unique Mobile Safari Camp with Excellent Game Viewing

The camp offers fantastic game viewing, with a location that places you in the heart of the Great Migration. Game drives are expertly guided, and the camp is ideally situated for spotting predators like lions, elephants, hyenas, and buffalo, as well as smaller wildlife such as jackals, servals, and wild dogs. Guests can also enjoy a variety of safaris, including walking safaris and hot air balloon rides for an unforgettable view of the Serengeti landscape and its wildlife.

Accommodation & Facilities

Guest accommodation consists of ten mobile tents designed to provide panoramic views through floor-to-ceiling windows, with dropdown covers for privacy when needed. Rooms are furnished with twin or double beds, bedside tables, lighting, and luggage racks. The en-suite bathrooms include twin washbasins, a toilet, and a bucket shower on a raised wooden platform. Basic toiletries, including soap, shampoo, and conditioner, are provided.

Dining and Social Areas

Meals are often served al fresco around the campfire, where guests can gather and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Serengeti. The camp’s main areas are simple yet comfortable, with full-board accommodation that includes all meals and both alcoholic and soft drinks. Children aged 16 and younger receive a 50% discount on the adult rate, making it a great option for families.

Activities at Serengeti Green Camp

Serengeti Green Camp provides a variety of activities to suit every adventure enthusiast:

  • Expertly Guided Game Drives: Two game sessions daily (morning and late afternoon), offering prime opportunities to witness the Great Migration and spot a variety of wildlife, from lions and elephants to wildebeest and zebras.
  • Walking Safaris: Guided walking safaris are available for guests aged 12 and over, providing an immersive experience to explore the bush, track animals, and learn about the local flora and fauna.
  • Hot Air Ballooning: For a unique perspective of the Serengeti, take a hot air balloon ride over the savanna, offering breathtaking views of the herds and volcanic landscapes. (Pre-booking required, additional cost applies.)

Access & Location

The camp is located in two areas of the Serengeti: the northern region, just east of Tabora, and the southern area, near the Kusini Kopjes. Both locations offer short walking safaris and easy access via a 4×4 transfer from the local airstrips (Serengeti South or Kogatende). Upon arrival, guests begin their game viewing experience immediately as they drive to camp.

Note: Serengeti Green Camp is unfenced and located in a wildlife area, so large animals may pass through. Always stay alert when walking around the camp and request an escort after dark.
