Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp

Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp

Ang’ata Ngorongoro Camp is close to the Crater Lodge on the Eastern side of Ngorongoro Crater’s rim. Just inside the park boundaries, our location permits early game drives down to the crater.  This Leaves you almost alone to discover this World Heritage Site. Up to 25.000 animals call the crater their home. But, except the Maasai Giraffes, who cannot cope with the crater’s steep slopes. The primary and most elusive attraction is the 23 Black Rhinoceroses. These live inside the crater, which may be the only chance to see them in the wild. Massai Bomas is a few kilometres away for those wishing to meet the Maasai.

The Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area’s main tourist attraction. It is the most enormous and scenic Crater in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, with a large concentration of wildlife. It is also one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders due to its breathtaking natural features. The Ngorongoro Crater is known as a home to over 25,000 animals, including the big five: elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, lions and leopards.

Other animals found in this Crater include hippos, hyenas, warthogs, zebras, elands, gazelles, and wildebeests, to name a few. This makes Ngorongoro Crater probably the best site in Tanzania to spot and watch the Big Five and other wild species more easily.
