Arrival and Safari Game Drive to Tarangire National Park

Early this morning, you will visit the Zanzibar Domestic Airport to check in for your domestic flight to Arusha. After arriving at Arusha Domestic Airport, your private safari guide will meet you and escort you to your private 4×4 safari land cruiser. Your journey to Tarangire National Park will take approximately two hours. Upon arrival at the park’s entrance, you’ll complete the registration process and immediately begin your first safari game drive.

Wildlife Viewing in Tarangire National Park

Explore the vast Tarangire plains, where you will encounter a variety of wildlife, especially near the banks of the Tarangire River, which attracts numerous animals for water. Tarangire is known for its large herds of elephants, as well as giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, cheetahs, and gazelles. After an exciting game drive, you will be transferred to your luxury lodge to check in, enjoy a delicious dinner, and relax for an overnight stay.

Early Morning Safari to Ngorongoro Crater

This day begins early to maximize your chances of seeing a variety of animals, particularly the rare Black Rhinos, as they retire from their nocturnal grazing. The smaller and larger cats are also more active in the cooler morning hours before the sun becomes too intense. You will drive early to Loduare Gate, the main entry point to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you will register before heading towards the Crater’s rim.

Viewpoint and Descent to the Crater Floor

At the View Point, you will take a brief stop to marvel at the stunning views over the Ngorongoro Crater floor. Known as the world’s largest unbroken caldera, Ngorongoro was formed after the collapse of a massive volcano believed to be larger than Mt Kilimanjaro. With 600-meter-high crater walls, the area serves as a natural wildlife sanctuary for over 30,000 animals, including the Big Five.

Game Viewing in Ngorongoro Crater

On the Crater floor, you’ll embark on a thrilling game drive, where you can expect to see a variety of wildlife such as lions, elephants, zebras, topis, eland, jackals, hyenas, and buffaloes. With some luck, you might spot the elusive leopard or even the rare Black Rhinos. After an exciting day of game viewing, you will transfer back to Arusha for your flight back to Zanzibar Island, marking the end of your unforgettable safari experience.
