Our guide-driver meets you at your stay in Arusha, and you immediately head to the park.
Tarangire is one of Africa's little-known gems. Its name comes from the Tarangire River, which flows through the park and is the only water source during the dry season.
Tarangire's landscape is incredibly diverse and unmatched anywhere else in northern Tanzania. The park is home to ancient baobab trees and giant termite mounds, believed by the Maasai as the world's first trees. During the dry season, the blazing sun turns the ground a dusty red color, while during the rainy season, everything turns green (thick bushes and lush tall grasses).
Known for its large elephant population, it is also home to lions, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, waterbucks, baboons, pygmy mongooses, impalas, buffalos, antelopes and fringed oryx. The swamps are divided by flocks of birds, including green forest hoopoes, lovebirds, tall herons, giant kingfishers, bustards, and ostriches.
You will have lunch in the park (the driver-guide will choose a picnic spot) and then continue your safari.
